Confused about new husband's feelings for ex, kids, & me?

This is my first marriage, his second. He has two kids, I have none. He had been married 9 yrs, I was in a 8 yr dead end, abusive relationship prior to us getting together. We both gave up ALOT to be together. 3 wks before we got married (in Vegas), his ex moved the kids across the country. We've been married barely 2 months & are working on getting out of some debt. He wants to go out there to see his kids, but it costs $$$ plus all the $ for child sup. His ex pays -0- to help her kids see their dad. I accidently came across a letter he was writing to the kids (who are too young to read yet). He wrote that he will always have a special place for his ex & will always love her. Do I say something to him - I don't want him to think I was spying, I just found it while looking for something else. Also, do you think he means this or is just trying to reure his kids & to cover his guilt over the kids? He sometimes says I don't get it b/c I don't have kids, should I be concerned?
