Homemade chicken curry, can you freeze and reheat?

I have cooked a home made chicken curry tonight, is it ok to wait for it to cool then put it in the freezer, when we want to eat it again does it need to be defrosted thoroughly in the fridge and then how to re-heat it? Is this safe?
