My Ipod keeps looping and it won't get recognized by the comp or go into disk or diagnostic mode. Help.?

My ipod is stuck in a loop where I just see the apple logo, the screen is dimmed, it doesn't light up. Then It takes me to a screen that shows the ipod with a sad face and a exclamation mark and it reads "http://www.apple.com/support/ipod". I can't get it in disk mode. The key combinations don't work. It just goes directly to that screen. When I plug it into my computers, I tried multiple Mac and PCs, they both don't recognize my ipod, and it shows the "low battery please wait" screen on my ipod. It doesn't change either, even if I let it charge for hours. Also, when it books up, I heard a scratching/crackling noise, like the harddrive is attempting to read itself and failing. Please Help. Also, my warranty just ran out a month ago... Somehow the geniuses at apple manage to make ipods break right after the warranty expires.
